Stars Shine for Everyone, or Sterren Schitteren voor Iedereen (SSVI) in Dutch, is a pioneering inclusive outreach project from Ghent University, led by Jean Pierre Grootaerd.

Its core mission is to make the wonders of astronomy and science accessible to everyone, especially those who face barriers to traditional learning. The project operates in more than 172 countries across all continents

The UGent Volkssterrenwacht Armand Pien is a beacon of astronomical discovery located in the heart of Ghent. Named in honor of Belgium’s beloved weatherman and passionate science popularizer, Armand Pien.

From its iconic dome, it offers the public a unique chance to peer through powerful telescopes and witness the wonders of the night sky, from the craters of the Moon to distant galaxies, bridging the gap between academic research and public curiosity.
